Flies
There are several types of flies commonly found in and around Michigan homes and businesses. Some of the most common types include:

- Blow flies: Blow flies are blue or green in color and are attracted to decaying flesh. They are often found near dead animals or in garbage cans.
- Stable flies: Stable flies are similar in appearance to house flies, but have a sharp, pointed mouthpart that they use to feed on the blood of animals. They are often found near livestock or other animals.
It is important to take steps to prevent and control fly infestations, as they can be a health hazard and a nuisance. This may include keeping food and garbage properly stored, repairing leaks and other sources of moisture, and using fly traps or insecticides.
House Fly
The house fly, also known as Musca domestica, is a common pest found in homes and other indoor environments. House flies are attracted to any organic matter, particularly food, garbage, and feces. They breed and lay eggs in these materials, which can quickly lead to a large infestation if left unaddressed.
Blow Fly
Blow flies are a type of fly that are often mistaken for other common flies such as house flies or fruit flies. They are typically larger and have a metallic or shiny appearance, which can help distinguish them from other types of flies. Blow flies are attracted to decaying organic matter, including animal carcasses, garbage, and compost.
Blow flies may be present in a home if there is an animal carcass, such as a dead mouse or bird, or if there is a large amount of rotting garbage or compost nearby. They may also be attracted to pet waste or uncleaned areas where food is prepared or consumed.
